Dear Bonneville parents,
We are excited to announce a big change coming to Bonneville this spring! In response to parent feedback, we will be combining Art Night and the Bonneville Bash into a single event that raises money for arts & science programs for our school. The new event – yet to be named - will be held the evening of May 1 and will celebrate arts & science, highlight student accomplishments in these areas, provide fundraising opportunities, and most importantly, offer a range of fun activities for families. A committee is hard at work planning the new arts/science event and will be asking for your help in the coming weeks.
We know that this change adds to the ongoing confusion about why and how fundraising occurs at Bonneville. To clarify, we have spelled out below some information that we hope is helpful:
Why do we fundraise? To pay for the many supplemental programs and activities that enrich our children's school experience and help make Bonneville a top rated school.
Why do we distinguish between PTA fundraising and arts & science fundraising? We are required by the Salt Lake School District to separate any fundraising for arts & science programs from other PTA fundraising efforts.
What are our main fundraisers? The main PTA fundraiser is the Fun Run, held in the fall. The main arts & science fundraiser will be the new combined art/science event, held in the spring.
What are the supplemental programs and activities made possible by fundraising? See the table below for a summary of the many supplemental programs and activities at Bonneville.
We are looking forward to an exciting new art/science fundraiser that celebrates our community and allows continued support of important programs. Stay tuned for updates through email and the PTA website - Thank you for your continued support.
